God created the human body. We do not have any rights on our body; it is the property of God because we did not create it. We have been allocated a limited amount of time in which we can make use of the body that we have been given. After this time has passed we will not have the same opportunity. Then it will be up to God whether He grants us a new body for us to use. We should make the best use of this opportunity.

We cannot commit self-harm, suicide or other self-destructive things because we have no right to abuse our body. This is because the human body is not ours it is God’s.

We should use the time that we have been allocated by God to use our body in constructive ways.

The human body is the temple of the living God. We should keep our temple as clean as possible and keep space for God to come and reside. This can be achieved through the shelter of a spiritual master. Our spiritual master can inordinately help to relieve us from the mind’s five vices – Lust, Anger, Desire, Attachment and Ego. Through these vices the mind relentlessly continues to control the human body and uses it to commit bad deeds. The reason for this is because the mind wants to keep the soul, which is in the human body, in its control.

A spiritual master relentlessly strengthens the soul by encouraging the human being to commit good deeds. A spiritual master repetitively persuades the human being to speak the truth, perform Seva - voluntary activities in humbleness, live in contentment, give sacrifice of bad deeds and do something for someone else. The spiritual master through their discourses, practical way of living and presence gives this message.

In the discourses, there are many examples, which a spiritual master will give, to persuade the human being to understand the need to strengthen the soul. These examples can be given from stories relating to prophets, relating to past recognised people, old folk stories or recent events. Whatever that is said, the ultimate aim is to emphasise the need of accepting the need to perform good deeds under the guidance of a spiritual master.

A spiritual master practices what they preach. By living a practical life in which they demonstrate how life should be lived a spiritual master provides inspiration for human beings. People see the way in which the spiritual master deals with the same everyday circumstances of life, which they go through, but still manages to remain vibrant and have a unique presence. The real realisation comes when the spiritual master leaves their human body. That is when people truly realise the nature and importance of the spiritual master when they take into account all the deeds the spiritual master performed whilst living in the same human body as everyone else.

The presence of a spiritual master is in itself illuminating. In the radiance of a spiritual master a human being feels a surge of energy and confidence with which they can battle with their vices and attain control over their mind. The glow which is omitted from a spiritual master can be the only thing which is required for a human being to become wholly attached instantaneously.

Once a human being is attached to the spiritual master then the spiritual master’s way of thinking and instructions will dominate the mind of the human being. Ultimately, pure attachment to a spiritual master is the way of gaining everything in life and after life. The spiritual master takes from the eternal light and sound and gives to the human being. The spiritual master is the giver. If you get attached to the giver then you can take whatever you want. But the beauty is, that if you are attached with the giver you will not want anything because your mind will be dominated by the thinking of the giver, who already has everything and does not need anything, thus you will not have the need or desire to ask for anything.

 

Have faith in your spiritual master. Stay under them.

And you will achieve everything.

 

Views regarding a perfect spiritual master do to some degree depend on an individual’s faith and devotion. There is no proof.

But it is definitely true that you do need a living spiritual master according to the teachings of Mahraz Darshan Das Jee.
